Austute ManCeltic FC is actively seeking a new midfielder to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season. The departure of Matt O’Riley, who is close to joining Brighton, has created a void in the team. O’Riley’s impressive performance last season, with 19 goals and 18 assists, played a crucial role in Celtic’s SPFL title win.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has acknowledged the challenge of finding a suitable replacement for O’Riley. However, the club has identified Mateusz Bogusz, an attacking midfielder from Los Angeles FC, as a potential candidate.
According to journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, Celtic has established contacts with LAFC to discuss the transfer fee and personal terms with Bogusz. The 22-year-old midfielder has had an impressive season in the MLS, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists.
Bogusz’s performances have attracted attention from top clubs, and he is expected to receive a call-up to the Polish national team. His previous experience playing for Leeds United has prepared him for a move to a top club like Celtic.
While the transfer fee is reportedly around £8.4 million, Celtic will likely aim to negotiate a lower price. The situation is ongoing, but Celtic appears to have a good chance of securing Bogusz’s signature.
