Former Premier League star Alexis Sanchez has previously made it clear where his allegiance lies in terms of English football.
On Sunday (3 September), Arsenal will be hoping to claim another league win over Manchester United, as they host the Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium.
If Mikel Arteta’s team do reign supreme, it will be the first time since 1991 that the Gunners have won three straight home league games against United.
Speaking ahead of the game, the 41-year-old head honcho said he believed it was going to be a ‘really competitive match’ and for fans to expect a ‘big battle on Sunday’.

A player that is all too familiar with both Premier League sides is 34-year-old Sanchez.
In 2014, the forward signed a lucrative £31.7 million deal with the North London team which saw him depart from Barcelona after three seasons.
Up until 2018, Sanchez played his part and helped Arsenal to hoist the FA Cup twice and also lay claim to the Community Shield back in 2014.

However, in the January, it was confirmed that the Chilean was being swapped for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and thus he eventually joined United.
Despite playing for both heavyweight sides though, the star has previously made it clear where his loyalty lies and who he will be backing in Sunday’s clash.

Ahead of the two teams’ last league outing in January, the former posted a video from the archives which saw Sanchez scoring a stunning goal against the latter in 2015.

Responding to the video tribute, Sanchez commented: “You remembered me. I will never forget you too. You will always be in my heart, you were my first family in England, and everyone took good care of me especially the fans! All the best gunners!!”
Doubling down on the support for the club, Sanchez went on to repost the video to his own Instagram story before sharing the clip again on his actual social media feed.
In contrast, the Chilean – who has recently re-signed with Inter Milan – did not share the love for United nor post a tribute to his time there.

However, it’s worth noting that Erik ten Hag’s team didn’t upload a video tribute to him either.
In fact, Sanchez has previously discussed his regret over swapping the capital for Manchester.
Reminiscing on the swap for Mkhitaryan, he said: “Sometimes there are things that you don’t realise until you get there, and I remember the first training session I had, I realised a lot of things.

“After the session I got home and I told my family and my agent ‘Can you not rip up the contract to go back to Arsenal?’. They laughed, I told them there’s something that doesn’t sit right, it doesn’t seem good.
The 34-year-old then went on to say that he carried on for the ‘first few months’ feeling the same, and stated that he didn’t feel ‘united as a team in that moment’.
