The Premier League have confirmed the dates and times for some rescheduled matches in September and October following the draws for the Champions League and Europa League.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United are competing in the group stages of the Champions League this season. Liverpool, West Ham and Brighton are in the Europa League, while Aston Villa have qualified for the Conference League.

With so many English sides in European competitions, the Premier League often has to move fixtures to ensure no unmanageable gaps between games. There are also broadcasting considerations to take into account, meaning occasional difficulties in scheduling.

Three Aston Villa matches have now been rescheduled following the draw for the Conference League group stages. Unai Emery’s side will now play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on September 24, Wolves at Molineux on October 21 and Luton at home on October 29.

Meanwhile, Newcastle host Brentford at St James’ Park in a late kick-off on Saturday, September 16 in their first game back after the upcoming international break. The fixture falls before their opening Champions League group game, away to AC Milan on September 19.

Arsenal will travel to Everton on Sunday, September 17 before hosting PSV Eindhoven three days later at the Emirates. The Gunners will once again try to juggle mid-week European games as they try to topple Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League.

Finally, Manchester United play Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday, October 21 before hosting Copenhagen in the Champions League three days later. Erik ten Hag’s side have been drawn against the Danish side, Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in Group A of the competition.

Here are the six rescheduled fixtures. More are expected in November and December as a result of Villa’s Conference League participation. They will be announced when each month’s broadcast selections are decided.
