Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard has been speaking about his lack of minutes so far this campaign, claiming that he isn’t too concerned considering how long the season is

Leandro Trossard has opened up on his lack of game time with Arsenal this term, admitting that he isn’t worried considering how long the season is.

Trossard joined the Gunners during the January transfer window, signing from Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee in the region of £27million. Since then, the Belgian international has hit the ground running, netting two goals and providing a whopping ten assists for the north Londoners across all competitions.

But he has struggled for game time so far this season, playing just 62 minutes across Arsenal’s first four Premier League outings. When asked about his lack of action, the 28-year-old told Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, via Arseblog: “I don’t know how the national coach feels about that [his role at Arsenal].

“I am still convinced that I will play enough matches. I will be ready for the European Championship.

“We have a game every three days [at Arsenal], so it’s impossible to play with the same guys every time. It’s up to me to show myself when I get a chance.

“The coach told me that too.” Trossard’s versatility is one of his greatest assets, with the diminutive playmaker capable of operating as a winger, a false nine or even as a number eight.

The Belgian attacker will hope that he can be involved when the Gunners take on Everton the weekend after next following the end of the ongoing international break.
