Brendan Rodgers Spotted with Kieran Tierney, Fueling Return Speculation
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been photographed with former Celtic favorite Kieran Tierney, sparking rumors of a potential return to Paradise. The picture, taken at Celtic’s Gala Dinner in London, shows Rodgers and Tierney engaged in conversation.
Tierney, now an Arsenal player, was heavily linked with a return to Celtic in the summer before suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Scotland at the Euros. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly made the decision to sell Tierney before his injury, with the left-back valued at £10m.
Tierney’s contract with Arsenal has less than two years remaining, and the club is eager to recoup some of the £25m they paid Celtic for his transfer in 2019. During his time at Celtic, Tierney made 170 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 37 assists across all competitions.
Under Rodgers, Tierney played a crucial role in Celtic’s domestic success, winning multiple Scottish Premiership titles, Scottish Cups, and League Cups. His potential return to Celtic would likely be welcomed by fans.
However, some have expressed concerns about Tierney’s injury record, with Patrick Gallagher commenting, “Sadly Kieren has succumbed to injury and could not withstand the rigours of a full season at Celtic. It would be folly to even consider bringing him back.”
Despite these concerns, the reunion between Rodgers and Tierney has ignited speculation about a possible return to Celtic. Only time will tell if Tierney will make his way back to Paradise.
