Vitor Pereira looks set to stay at Nottingham Forest beyond this season after keeping the club in the Premier League
Nottingham Forest are planning to reward Vitor Pereira with a new long-term contract after keeping the club in the Premier League.
According to The Athletic, players and the club’s hierarchy are happy with Pereira and thus the priority is to sit down and negotiate fresh terms. There had been speculation of another change in the dugout at the City Ground, but the aforementioned report has dismissed that.
Pereira has overseen 18 games across multiple competitions with three consecutive Premier League wins during an unbeaten run of eight matches, helping Forest avoid relegation.

The 2025/26 campaign could have been much better for Forest, but they were brutally knocked out of the Europa League by Aston Villa at the semi-final stage following a 4-0 second leg loss.
Despite a depleted squad, Forest bounced back from that defeat at Villa Park with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United last Sunday. Former Magpies ace Elliot Anderson grabbed the equaliser but that could be one of his final contributions in a Forest shirt.
Though The Athletic have stated that Forest want to keep all of their star players, Manchester City and Manchester United are both circling around the 23-year-old.
When asked about his future, Pereira said: “I cannot say (whether he will stay), I don’t have the answer. I know he deserves the top of the world.
“I know that he’s our player, and we need to enjoy him because I have worked with the top talent players, but to find a top player with this character is not easy.”
Pereira added: “It’s difficult for everybody to understand what he is feeling inside. He honoured his mother on the pitch by running until the last minute. He wanted to score a goal a lot, and he believed until the end.
“He is a very talented player, but has a very strong character. He has the quality to score goals. In the warm-up, my assistant said that Elliot was on fire; every shot he took, he scored.

The World Cup with England will be Anderson’s next priority with club teammate Morgan Gibbs-White hopeful of joining him on the plane to the United States.
He has missed Forest’s last two matches after suffering a scary facial injury which has left him with a significant scar on his face. Despite that, he is contention to return for their trip to Manchester United this weekend.
Speaking on Gibbs-White, Pereira said: “He started to work with the team today, with the mask. Let’s see. It is strange when you use the mask. But I spoke with him and he said he was OK with the mask, no problem. We will see if he is ready and in condition for the next game.”
