Hearts Eyeing Move to Sign Rangers Star as Announcement Made

Hearts are showing an interest in signing a Rangers player after an announcement was made on Monday, Sky Sports have reported.
It’s a difficult time for Hearts supporters at the moment after they threw away the Scottish Premiership title at the weekend, losing away to Celtic.
Despite leading the race for the majority of the season, Derek McInnes’ side fell at the final hurdle, with Celtic once again lifting the league title.
As a result, Tony Bloom and the hierarchy will be looking to strengthen the Hearts squad heading into the 2026-2027 season.
Their recruitment in recent years has been impressive, and they’ll be looking to continue that when the summer transfer window opens later this year.
Hearts Eye Rangers Man
According to a report from Sky Sports, Rangers centre-back Leon King is now a target for Hearts in the summer transfer window after he wasn’t offered a new deal at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old announced that he was leaving the club on Monday after spending 17 years with the Glasgow giants.
King has struggled to break into the Rangers senior side, and he was sent on loan to Ayr United this campaign.
He’s also spent time on loan at Queen’s Park, while he’s made just 27 league appearances for Rangers.
Leon King Posts Rangers Farewell
King announced on Instagram that he would be leaving the club after 17 years, thanking the Glasgow giants for the opportunity to play for the club.
“Rangers… after 17 amazing years the childhood dream of that five-year-old me comes to a halt. Will be forever grateful for every opportunity I got to pull on that famous jersey and badge. To even play one game for this club I’d have lived out a dream I never thought would be possible.
To finish this part of my Rangers career with 50 games, a league title, Scottish Cup & League Cup trophy, and to reach a European final as well as some unbelievable experiences and nights at Ibrox and on the continent I’ll be forever grateful.”
King also singled out multiple members of staff in a heartfelt message to the club that handed him his first team debut at the age of 16.
“I’ve met some amazing people along the way who have shaped me to be who I am today. To every one of my academy staff and coaches who are amazing, you helped me from a five-year-old boy into the man I am today. Also to the staff no one get to see thank you for everything!
“A special mention to the guys in the building who drive to make the club what it was and what it should be every single day, David Lavery, Steve Walker & Jimmy Bell to name a few, thank you!
“Thank you to Steven for giving me that first chance at 16 to play for my boyhood club & to Giovanni for the trust and giving me the experience of playing Champions League football, memories will last a lifetime.
“My team mates, thank you all for some unbelievable memories over the years, these won’t ever be forgotten!
“Finally, you the fans. Thank you all for the support over my time at the club, for now I’ll go back to being one of you and be part of the club from afar. Until next time, thank you Rangers.”
