Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Backs Leeds United for Premier League Promotion
Leeds United legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has thrown his weight behind his former club’s promotion bid, insisting the Premier League is a better place with the Whites in it. Daniel Farke’s side currently occupies the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship, and Hasselbaink believes they have the quality and depth to secure a return to the top flight.
Hasselbaink’s Verdict
Speaking exclusively to Lucky Block, Hasselbaink said: “Everything is looking good for my old club to get back into the Premier League this season. Leeds are a club that belongs in the Premier League. I think they’ve been missed, and I think the Premier League will be a better place with them in it.”
Leeds United’s Strong Squad
Hasselbaink is impressed with Leeds’ squad, citing their strength and depth as key factors in their promotion push. “I look at Leeds’ squad, and I like what I see. I think they’ve got a really strong squad, maybe the best in The Championship.”
Daniel Farke’s Experience
The former Leeds striker also highlighted the importance of Daniel Farke’s experience in guiding the team to promotion. “They’ve got an experienced manager in Daniel Farke who knows what it takes to reach the Premier League, which is helpful because the Championship is such a difficult league and it’s incredibly demanding.”
Learning from Last Season
Hasselbaink believes Leeds will have learned valuable lessons from last season’s disappointment. “They will have learned from what happened to them last year. I hope they can do it. I think they can do it. I’ve got my fingers crossed for them to have a great season.”
Millwall Test
Leeds United faces a tough test tomorrow night as they visit seventh-placed Millwall, who have won their last three matches. The Lions will be without attacking full-back Joel Bryan, suspended after accumulating five yellow cards.
