Arsenal fan favourite excluded from national team after significant injury
Kieran Tierney has been left out of Scotland’s squad for the October internationals as he’s set to miss at least a month with a hamstring injury.
Kieran Tierney was left out of Steve Clarke’s most recent Scotland squad for the October internationals, with the manager admitting the Arsenal loanee would be a big miss for the side.
“We will miss him but I know Kieran, he will work as hard as he can to get back as quickly as possible, and we will be there to support him, and hopefully we are waiting on the other side for him as well with some good news,” Clarke said.
Tierney is absent with a hamstring issue, with Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil admitting it’s a serious injury.
“Kieran has suffered a major muscle tear,” Alguacil said. “It’s a shame. It’s a significant injury, but it’s not an extraordinary one.

“What I always say, each player is different and so is the recovery time.
“Time will tell when he will return, but it was a classic muscle tear that will take him time to recover from. But he will recover and we hope as soon as possible.”

AS report that Tierney will be out for around a month, with no possibility of a return before the international break.
The Spanish outlet carry quotes from a Real Sociedad statement, saying: “Kieran Tierney suffered, during yesterday’s game, an injury to the hamstring muscles of his left thigh.
“He has started treatment through physiotherapy. His return to activities will be progressive, depending on the characteristics of the injury and the evolution of the symptoms.”
