Who is THIS PLAYER ? Hoffenheim striker profiled as Leeds United ‘eye’ transfer raid and it is going to be a BIG MONEY transfer

Mergim Berisha is a 26-year-old German striker who currently plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. He has been linked with a transfer to Leeds United, with reports suggesting that the club is interested in signing him on an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy.

Berisha began his career at Bayern Munich’s youth academy before moving to Augsburg, where he made his professional debut. He later joined Fenerbahce on loan and then permanently, before being sold to Hoffenheim in 2023 for a profit of over £8 million.

Despite his promising start to his career, Berisha has struggled to find his best form at Hoffenheim, scoring only one goal in the Bundesliga this season. He has also had to deal with setbacks, including an ACL tear in November 2023 that ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Berisha has made two appearances for the German national team, earning his debut in a friendly against Peru in March 2023. However, he has not been called up to the national team since then.

Leeds United’s interest in Berisha may be driven by the need to strengthen their attacking options, particularly with Patrick Bamford’s injury struggles and Joel Piroe’s recent muscle complaints. However, it remains to be seen whether a deal can be agreed upon, with Hoffenheim reportedly valuing Berisha at a significant price.

Berisha’s profile suggests that he is a talented striker with a strong work ethic, but he has struggled to find consistency and form in his career so far. If Leeds United can sign him and help him rediscover his best form, he could potentially be a valuable addition to their squad.
