Sport nationCeltic FC is reportedly considering selling winger Luis Palma, with several clubs interested in signing him. Rayo Vallecano, Genoa, and Olympiacos are among the teams that have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old Honduran international.
Palma’s form has been disappointing in recent months, with only two goals and zero assists in 20 appearances in the Scottish Premiership since the start of 2024. This has led to speculation that Celtic may be willing to let him go, especially if they receive a suitable offer.
One potential replacement for Palma could be Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha. The 23-year-old Belgian has been linked with a move to Celtic, with reports suggesting that he could be available for a fee of £7.5 million.
Balikwisha has been impressive for Antwerp, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 33 league appearances last season. He has also been described as an “incredible” young talent by U23 scout Antonio Mango.
While Balikwisha’s injury record is a concern, having missed 21 matches with thigh and muscle issues this season, Celtic may be able to negotiate a lower price with Antwerp due to his fitness problems.
If Celtic can keep Balikwisha fit, he could be a fantastic addition to the squad, offering more quality and consistency at the top end of the pitch than Palma. This is why Celtic should consider selling Palma and signing Balikwisha before the end of the transfer window.
