Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Norwich City forward Borja Sainz, who has been in impressive form for the EFL Championship side this season.
According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the Scottish champions are considering a summer move for the 24-year-old, who has scored 16 goals and laid on four assists in 31 appearances for Norwich.
Sainz, who is out of contract in 2026, has been labelled “fantastic” by pundit Carlton Palmer, and his versatility and goal-scoring ability are believed to have caught the eye of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Hoops are likely to prioritise bringing in another striking option in the summer, following the departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes in January. Daizen Maeda has stepped up to the plate in Furuhashi’s absence, scoring 25 goals this season, but Rodgers is keen to add more depth to his attacking options.
Sainz, who operates primarily off the left flank, has completed 63 successful dribbles and taken on 90 shots this term, 39 of which have been on target. His impressive form has helped Norwich push for promotion to the Premier League, but if they fail to achieve their goal, Sainz may be tempted by a move to Celtic Park.
Celtic’s interest in Sainz is likely to be just one of several transfer stories to emerge in the coming weeks and months, as Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad for next season. The Hoops are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and are on course to secure a fourth consecutive league title.
