‘ABSOLUTE DISGRACE’: JASON CUNDY REACTS TO WHAT HE’S HEARING ABOUT DECLAN RICE & WEST HAM FANS
Jason Cundy has hit out at West Ham United fans for stating that they are going to boo Declan Rice when he returns to the London Stadium with Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will make the short trip across London to face off against David Moyes’ side, with a place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup up for grabs.
Following Declan Rice’s club-record transfer to Arsenal this summer, this is the first time he will return to West Ham United.
Ahead of that match, Jason Cundy urged those repping the Hammers to show respect to Declan Rice and not to boo him, as he told talKSPORT.
But when the ex-footballer turned pundit was told that the former West Ham captain will get booed, he dubbed the fans ‘an absolute disgrace’ – David Moyes has shared his thoughts on Rice ahead of the game.
Jason Cundy clearly feels that those inside the London Stadium need to treat Declan Rice a lot better given what he did for the club, as he explained.
West Ham fans and Declan Rice
“If you boo Declan Rice, then you are an absolute disgrace to your club,” said Cundy. “What he has done and what he achieved.
“You know what’s really annoying me about West Ham fans is that they bagged him up ‘Oh, we want £100 million. We want £110 million. We aren’t letting him go for this’. Yet, when he leaves, all the West Ham fans come crawling back, when they started the season well ‘we are a better team without him’. I am like ‘No, you are not’.
On hearing West Ham fans will boo Rice: “You are an absolute disgrace. You are the sort of fan that shouldn’t be going to games. You are an absolute disgrace.”

West Ham fans have every right to boo Rice
At the end of the day, he plays for the opposition now and there isn’t any reason why the West Ham fans shouldn’t get on his back if they wanted to.
Yes, he helped them win their first trophy since 1980 and ended his career at West Ham by lifting the Europa Conference League in Prague.
But those days are now gone, he will try to put the ball in the back of West Ham’s net now, so the home fans have every right to give Arsenal’s thriving midfielder as much stick as they want.
Of course, you are unsure if he starts tonight because there is every chance he is rested given that the League Cup is the least of Arteta’s priorities.
