The likes of Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus are bound to steal the headlines, and perhaps deservedly so.
But whilst covering the game for the BBC, pundit Clinton Morrison was amazed by Declan Rice in midfield.
Morrison couldn’t quite believe just how fast Rice looked, saying he was running rings around the Brighton players.
And the pundit even suggested that Rice’s dominance led to Roberto De Zerbi’s triple change in the second half.
Morrison said: “Brighton haven’t had the legs to compete but I think they’re going to make a triple sub.

“Declan Rice is just outpacing Lallana and Pascal Goss is a great individual but they’re struggling.”

After an extended run of starts in the position, it does now seem as if it would be hard to relocate Rice from number six.
Jorginho had often played in the pivot this season with Rice moving to the number eight, however Kai Havertz’s form has also changed that.

It would look near impossible for Arteta to name an Arsenal eleven without Havertz right now, who scored another delightful goal against Brighton.
The German is now really coming into his own for The Gunners, and looks ready to take responsibility in his performances.
It wasn’t so long ago that one pundit’s comparison to Dennis Bergkamp puzzled some fans, Havertz was struggling.
However, those concerns now seem to be firmly in the past, Kai Havertz is now flying.
And with a midfield three of Rice, Havertz and Odegaard, Arteta’s team can surely go a long, long way this season.
That being said, it also seems as if Havertz will now return to a more familiar position for his country.
