Amadou Onana to Arsenal could be on after major transfer ‘clue’ spotted on Instagram
Amadou Onana’s move to Arsenal could be on after a major transfer clue was spotted on Instagram.

On Monday it was claimed that Arsenal are keen on signing Everton midfielder Onana.

Transfer guru Sacha Tavolieri wrote on X, formally Twitter: “Talks intensive currently ongoing between #EvertonFC & #ArsenalFC for Amadou Onana.

“The Belgian midfielder – who has always put his priority to stay in Premier League – is keen on the move. Things could develop quickly…”

The Gunners have been in dismal form in recent weeks, surrendering top spot in the title race and being knocked out of the FA Cup.

In turn, Mikel Arteta will likely be looking to add to his ranks in the coming weeks to reignite their title charge and gather momentum for the Champions League knock-out stages.

Indeed, the same day it was claimed Arsenal may be targeting Onana, the Everton star’s sister and agent Mélissa posted an Instagram story which suggests there may be truth behind claims of interest from north London.

In the story, Mélissa is sitting in heavy traffic at the back of a cab. In the distance, however, is London pub Argyle House, which potentially corroborates the claims she is holding talks with Arsenal.

Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing Onana this January.

Football Transfers alleged that United have that available funds to bring in one significant addition to Old Trafford in window, with the 22-year-old among those targeted.

United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly wanted to sign Onana instead of Sofyan Amrabat in the summer, but didn’t have the transfer budget to complete the purchase at the time.

ADVERT
Ten Hag allegedly remains an admirer of the Belgian’s versatility, given he can play anywhere across the backline as well as in defensive midfield, with the club potentially set to reignite their interest.

The publication added that Everton have a long-standing interest in Scott McTominay and a deal involving the two players could benefit all parties.

Arsenal fans think Kylian Mbappe has dropped transfer clue on William Saliba’s Instagram
Arsenal fans are convinced PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has dropped a transfer clue on William Saliba’s Instagram account.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG is due to expire in the summer.

The Ligue 1 club are currently in negotiations with the France international over a new long-term deal.

And while recent reports claim the forward would be happy to remain at the Parc des Princes, he is yet to put pen to paper – fuelling speculation over his future.

ADVERT
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of Mbappe, having previously failed to sign the 25-year-old on two separate occasions, while Liverpool have also been linked with the Frenchman.

If they are unable to agree a new deal with Mbappe, PSG could consider selling him in January – potentially their last opportunity to secure a fee for the striker.

Mbappe, meanwhile, is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1.

ADVERT
Liverpool are not the only Premier League club that has been linked with Mbappe, with London giants Chelsea and Arsenal also said to be interested.

And Gunners supporters believe the Frenchman may have just dropped a hint over a potential move to the Emirates.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Mbappe has liked a post made by Saliba on Instagram following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

Posting a picture of himself competing for the ball with Mohamed Salah, Saliba wrote: “Tough game but a strong performance.”

While some Arsenal supporters believe it is a sign Mbappe prefers Arsenal over Liverpool, it is more likely the forward was merely showing his support for his France international teammate.

Paris-born Saliba, meanwhile, has himself been linked with a move to PSG and there is the possibility that Mbappe is trying to form a stronger relationship with the defender ahead of a potential return to French football.

PSG are currently enjoying a break around the festive period but will return to action against Toulouse for the Trophee des Champions on January 3.

Premier League leaders Arsenal, on the other hand, are in the middle of a busy period and next face London rivals West Ham on Thursday.

Man City could block Arsenal and Man Utd from completing January transfer
Manchester City could block Arsenal and Manchester United from completing a January transfer, according to a fresh report.

We’re beyond the season’s halfway point and several teams are in contention to win the Premier League title.

Liverpool, who appeared in relative disarray in the summer, are currently three points clear at the league summit, while this year’s surprise package Aston Villa are in second place.

Last year’s treble winners City are third on 40 points, though with a game in hand over those surrounding them, while Arsenal’s stuttering recent form sees them languish in fourth.

ADVERT
As per the Athletic, Arsenal are considering strengthening at the back in January, with a focus on the left, to increase their dwindling chances of claiming a first Premier League title in two decades.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is currently operating at left-back for Mikel Arteta’s men but has struggled for form in recent weeks.

The club allegedly admire Ajax’s Jorrel Hato as well as Miguel Gutierrez of Girona, however, neither player would represent an ideal January signing.

ADVERT
Jato is only 17 and thus, does not qualify for a UK work permit until his 18th birthday in March.

Meanwhile, Gutierrez, who has also been linked by the Sun to United, could be a difficult signing to complete.

His ownership right, split between Real Madrid and Girona’s primary shareholder City Football Group, would reportedly complicate any prospective deal considerably.

Gutierrez is a regular in Girona’s first XI, having played 20 times this term, registering a goal and three assists.

ADVERT
Moreover, the 22-year-old is a product of Real’s academy and featured nine times in the league for Los Blancos before joining Girona in the summer of 2022.

Despite his current deal running until June 2027, his talents have reportedly been tracked by AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund. Girona could allegedly be convinced to part ways with the defender for £22million.

BREAKING: Andre Onana responds to Cameroon national team return rumours with Instagram clues
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has posted a cryptic message on social media after being recalled to the Cameroon squad.

Onana, who moved to United from Inter Milan for £43.8 million, has been capped 34 times by his country and was the number one choice prior to the World Cup in Qatar.

However, he had a row with manager Rigobert Song and decided to retire from international football altogether as a result.

ADVERT
The ex-Ajax shotstopper appears to have had a change of heart, however, after Cameroon included him in the squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifying game against Burundi on 12 September.

Onana has played three competitive games for United, keeping a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Wolves.

The 27-year-old could give United a huge blow in the goalkeeping depart as if Cameroon avoid defeat, they will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.

The tournament takes place in Ivory Coast between January 13 and February 11 and United will be in action four times during that period.

Onana was signed to replace David de Gea and has showcased his impressive distribution.

But United face a situation where they could be without their first-choice goalkeeper for a fairly sizeable period if Cameroon progress.

ADVERT
They are on the verge of bringing in a back-up for Onana, with Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir closing in on a €7 million switch.

Already confirmed by former United midfielder Fred, Bayindir has been in England since Friday and an official announcement is believed to be close.

Inter Milan firesale in January transfer window could see Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd targets leave
A fire sale of Inter players this January could play into the hands of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to Italian publication Il Giornale, Inter, who currently lead Serie A and are through to the Champions League knockout stages, are on the brink of bankruptcy.

Claims the Italian giants were in deep financial trouble emerged after the club paid their 10 board members, including CEO Alessandro Antonello and sporting executive Giuseppe Marotta, a smaller compensation than the previous financial year.

This is allegedly because the China-based company, Suning Group, which owns 70 per cent of Inter’s shares is facing financial difficulties.

ADVERT
Inter owner Stephen Zhang, the son of Suning Group Chairman, put the club on the market as the Chinese economy continued to falter, but failed to find a buyer.

The report added that Inter only remained afloat because of the summer sales of Marcelo Brozovic and Andre Onana.

Rather crassly, Inter’s misfortunes could play into the hands of some of the Premier League clubs.

ADVERT
Marcus Thuram, who has netted seven goals and registered six further assists in Serie A since a summer move from Borrusia Monchengladbach, could be of interest to United.

Erik ten Hag’s men were widely linked with the France international before his summer move to Italy.

Furthermore, a flurry of reports have claimed Nico Barella is of interest to Liverpool in the past few months, despite the midfielder’s contract running until 2026.

Arsenal too were deemed to be interested in Davide Frattesi in the summer, before the 24-year-old secured a summer move from Sampdoria to Interoad our app
