Arsenal get green light to complete £112m Victor Osimhen transfer as Bayern Munich agree deal
Arsenal transfer news as football.london dives into the latest Gunners rumours and reports with a fresh perspective

With no football action for Arsenal this weekend, transfer speculation and rumours are certain to dominate the headlines for the Gunners over the next few days.
Despite Mikel Arteta’s squad needing some glaring reinforcements, the north Londoners are yet to sign a single player in the January transfer window. Talk of Ivan Toney moving to the Emirates Stadium have gone quiet since his return to action for Brentford and any hope of signing a new striker will have to wait until the summer.
Fortunately, a fresh and encouraging update on Victor Osimhen’s future at Napoli will leave Edu Gaspar and Arteta on red alert. The Gunners have been linked with the prolific goalscorer for some time but are said to be behind Chelsea in the race for him.
Now, despite him signing a new deal at the end of last year, Osimhen will leave the club in the summer transfer window. That’s according to president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has confirmed the club will lose their biggest asset.
Speaking on Friday, he said: “This was already known since this summer, our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly, otherwise it would not have been so long. We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club.”
Chelsea may be the front-runner to sign the 25-year-old, but Arsenal will also be keen on constructing a deal.

football.london says: If Arsenal ever needed a green light to sign a player, this is it. Arsenal are a “top English club” and will fancy their chances of beating their London rivals to sign Osimhen in the summer.
A potential Premier League title race and Champions League qualification to offer, the Gunners have two early advantages over Chelsea, who look likely to miss out on a top-four finish once again. They proved with Declan Rice of their capability of convincing elite players to join them, so why not do it again?
The finances involved will be difficult to iron out for Arsenal. But it’s Osimhen and he’s literally the missing piece to Arteta’s squad.
One player who will not be joining Arsenal is Sacha Boey. The Gunners had reportedly submitted a bid for the Galatasaray defender after reigniting their interest from the summer.
Turkish outlet A Spor claimed that a £25million bid had been offered but it now seems that Boey will join German giants Bayern Munich. According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been verbally agreed between the two clubs and the Frenchman will travel to Munich to undergo his medical.
Romano has claimed that a move to Thomas Tuchel’s side is an ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ for Boey. He will join Bayern to provide competition at right-back with Noussair Mazraoui.
football.london says: Arsenal’s interest in Boey had seemed to come from nowhere after their summer interest went flat. The Gunners were more desperate for a new right-back before the season started before Jurrien Timber signed.
Takehiro Tomiyasu has become a more valuable member of Arteta’s side so the necessity of a new defender at right-back isn’t as strong. However, £25million for an attacking wing-back would have been smart business.
Right-backs are difficult to find, especially good ones. Boey will be one that has got away and Arsenal will be hoping they don’t live to regret the decision not to push ahead with their interest.
