Ancelloti FURIOUS with Arteta for going after World-class player he desperately likes, here is why?(opinion
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has suggested that the Gunner’s reported interest in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is ‘real.’
Mikel Arteta’s primary midfield target has always been Declan Rice but the manager could be set to bring in an even bigger star this summer.
Tchouameni signed for Real Madrid from Monaco for €80m (£68.5m) last summer. Since, the France international has made 50 appearances across all competitions. He is yet to score a goal for Los Blancos but has made four assists.
However, despite putting in some good performances, Real Madrid are willing to sell Tchouameni this summer. This is partly due to Jude Bellingham, whose arrival at the Bernabeu could see the Frenchman’s minutes diminish.
As a result, Madrid president Florentino Perez has indicated he is willing to sell Tchouameni. But, only if someone agrees to pay €90m (£77.3m) for him.
This has caught the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal, who reportedly have a genuine interest in signing him this summer.
A midfield trio of Rice, Martin Odegaard and Tchouameni is a potentially title-winning prospect. So, it will be interesting to see if the Gunners do make an offer for the Real Madrid star.

Campbell: Arsenal ‘knocking on the door’ for Tchouameni
Now, Campbell has suggested that Arsenal’s reported interest in Tchouameni could be true. And, he says he would like to see the move happen.
“What would you say if the interest in Tchouameni is real?” Campbell said on The Highbury Squad.
“I am asking the question. What would you say if it’s real? Potentially, they are knocking on the door.
“Arsenal have made a statement signing [in Rice] already. But I want them to force it home with another marquee signing.”
It’s no secret that Arsenal will look to bring in another midfielder after Rice.
This is because Granit Xhaka will most likely join Bayer Leverkusen this summer. And, as revealed by TEAMtalk, Thomas Partey has also been deemed surplus to requirements by Arteta.
Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia is thought to be on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist. He is also a key target for Liverpool.
But, if recent reports are to be believed, it seems Tchouameni has emerged as a genuine option for the Gunners.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal make a concrete bid for his services in the next couple of weeks.
