Leeds United: Doctor shares post surgery update on Pascal Struijk amid return claim

Leeds United will be more conservative with the return of Pascal Struijk post his groin surgery, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that based on what Daniel Farke said, it is something that needs to be handled carefully.

He also appears weeks away from light training as of now as the primary focus appears to be on recovery.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Struijk:

“Struijk had to undergo surgery on his groin and that ensured that he will not be returning to action this season.

“The first stages of recovery will be allowing the area to heal and then starting with a gentle range of motion and mobility.

“Based on what was said about the surgery – ‘long and complex’ – the physios are likely to be even more conservative here with those early stages.

“He still appears weeks away from even considering a return to light training.”

Struijk has been very reliable for Leeds United
Prior to his injury, the 24-year-old was among the first names on the team sheet for Daniel Farke.

He featured in the league on 23 occasions and made the left centre-back spot his own.

In his absence, Ethan Ampadu has filled in the role perfectly alongside Joe Rodon and it remains to be seen what the combination is next season.

Leeds will want Rodon to stay on and also hope that Struijk is the same player he was before his long-term injury.
