West Ham United hierarchy tell David Sullivan to get rid of David Moyes, replacements lined up

West Ham United have not yet made a decision on the future of David Moyes as manager of the club beyond this season, according to HITC.

Writing on their website (16 April), the news outlet report that the veteran Scotsman is under pressure with his contract expiring at the end of the season and European football next season looking unlikely.

According to the report several members of the club’s hierarchy have told owner Sullivan that the time is right for Moyes to move on at the end of the season, but a final decision has not been made yet despite replacements being lined up.

Will West Ham United sack David Moyes?
The chances of Moyes leaving the club before the end of the season are completely zero unless he opts to walk out himself, but that seems like a long shot.

The manager said earlier this season that the decision would be his if he was to stay on next season, with an offer of a new contract already tabled.

But reports suggest that talks have already been held with people like Graham Potter and Paulo Fonseca and there is confidence that the club could even potentially convince Thomas Tuchel to join in the summer.

All of this smoke without fire seems unlikely and the Hammers would certainly want to have plans in place in case they do choose to end Moyes’ tenure as manager at the end of his contract.

But until Sullivan makes a decision one way or another, Moyes is the man in charge and fans need to get behind him and the team to try and overturn a 2-0 deficit against Leverkusen on Thursday 18 April in order to keep the European dream alive.
