Man City ready player-plus-cash move to sign £10m Everton youngster – report

Manchester City are preparing a player-plus-cash deal to sign Everton’s talented young goalkeeper Daniel Lukjanciks, according to journalist Alan Nixon. City are willing to pay up to £10million for the 17-year-old, who has already impressed for England at the Under-17 level.

As part of the deal, City will offer a homegrown player to Everton in exchange, in addition to the fee. This would help Everton meet Financial Fair Play criteria, as Lukjanciks is a homegrown player and would be sold for a profit.

While £10million may seem like a good offer for a player not yet challenging Jordan Pickford for the first-team spot, it could be a short-sighted decision. If Lukjanciks goes on to become a regular for City in the future, Everton may regret selling him.

Nixon notes that City’s willingness to sacrifice one of their own talented youngsters to sign Lukjanciks speaks to the high regard they hold him in. However, with Everton’s ownership situation uncertain, the club may need to be cautious with their finances.

Despite the offer, it’s hoped that Everton will decline and gamble on Lukjanciks becoming a future star at Goodison Park. With his potential and talent, it would be a shame to see him leave the Toffees so early in his career.
