Good and Bad news for Leeds as Doctor drops Patrick Bamford injury update

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is a doubt for the play-off final against Southampton due to a patellar tendon issue, according to injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar. The 30-year-old missed the second leg against Norwich and is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes in the final.

Dr. Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Science, explained that the patellar tendon is prone to high levels of force, particularly during jumping and landing. “Mini trauma” to this area could lead to prolonged pain and discomfort, making it challenging for Bamford to recover in time for the game.

For Bamford to be available for the final, he would need to return to partial training and complete a couple of full training sessions beforehand. However, it’s unlikely he’ll play the full 90 minutes. Despite not being a regular starter this season, Bamford offers valuable contributions off the ball and has the ability to stretch defenses with his direct running.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke may consider bringing Bamford on in the second half if there’s a chance he can play even 30 minutes.
