“I thought he was slightly off today….” Celtic BEST PLAYER has been described as almost WORST player on the pitch yesterday

Celtic’s dominance on the domestic circuit continues, with Brendan Rodgers at the helm. The team secured a 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Wednesday night, going seven points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Conditions were awful at Pittodrie, but Reo Hatate’s goal was enough for the Bhoys to secure the points and that cushion between Scotland’s second-best-placed side.

Only days earlier, Celtic outclassed Ross County, with the manager making several changes from their midweek Champions League matches. Some big hitters were rested – and, as a result, were fresh for the Aberdeen test – whilst others didn’t play the entire game.

One of the players given a rest against County was star of the season Nicolas Kuhn, but Pat Bonner had some interesting words to say about the player after the win over Aberdeen.

Kuhn has been Celtic’s best player this season and a man starting to play the best football of his career after early struggles. There haven’t been too many games this season where you can question the winger, but Bonner felt that he was ‘off it’ against Aberdeen.

As he told the Scottish Football Podcast, “I thought Kuhn was slightly off it. I was surprised he lasted the whole game. He looked as if he was getting really, really tired also.”

Bonner admitted that he was surprised Kuhn lasted the entire match, as he highlighted how Celtic’s ‘energy’ pushed them over the line. “But he (Rodgers) kept him on the pitch. He could have maybe changed him.”

However, Bonner did acknowledge that Celtic’s squad depth and energy ultimately helped them secure the win. “Overall, I think the changes helped Celtic to just keep the dominance and energy up. Keep them working towards getting that goal, and eventually, it came.”

Kuhn’s stats for Celtic during the 1-0 win over Aberdeen were still impressive, despite Bonner’s comments. According to WhoScored, Kuhn had one shot, four key passes, 36 passes with a 72.2% pass accuracy, six dribbles, and 53 touches, earning a rating of 7.34.

It won’t be too long before Kuhn is ripping it up again and proving why class is permanent. It also needs to be noted that when you set the bar so high, then everyone starts to expect a little bit more from you.

Brendan Rodgers’ decision to keep Kuhn on the pitch ultimately paid off, as Celtic secured the win and maintained their dominance at the top of the table.
