Nottingham Forest have made an official approach for Fenerbahçe defender Archie Brown, offering €16m for the 23-year-old.

According to their information, Nottingham Forest have entered the race to sign Archie Brown at the end of the season.
They’ve even presented an official offer for the 23-year-old, bidding €16m. That, though, is unlikely to be enough. Fenerbahce are looking for €18m to let Brown go this summer.
He joined them from Gent at the beginning of the season in a €9m deal. He’s impressed since, with four goals and seven assist in 36 games this season.
Brown is currently valued at €9m, so the Turkish side want at least double what they paid in the summer. The defender also has a deal until 2028, so there’s no pressure to lower those demands for now.
Whether Nottingham Forest want to spend the extra €2m remains to be seen. But they’ve opened the bidding and it’s not an insurmountable distance by any means.
Left-back needs
On paper, a left-back does not appear to be at the top of Nottingham Forest’s needs given they already have Neco Williams and Luca Netz for the position.
Ola Aina can also play at left back if required, so the squad is hardly lacking for coverage in that position by any means.
It seems, though, they want a different profile. And now they have their eyes on one of the rising stars in Türkiye ahead of the summer.
Any move is naturally tied to their Premier League status. It seems unlikely anything will be formalised or pushed forward before that’s secured, which makes talk of an official offer see a little bit unrealistic at this point.
