Rangers set to allow these two players to leave in the summer with exodus now underway – report

Posted on April 16, 2026 by MrSport

It is set to be a busy transfer window at Rangers and Danny Rohl has already started planning for the incomings and outgoings.

There undoubtedly will be a number of players leaving Ibrox, as there needs to be space made on the payroll for new arrivals.

Rangers are prioritising Luke Graham at Dundee, but there are a number of other transfer targets Rohl has his eyes on.

Ben Davies and Leon King to be allowed to leave Rangers this summer
According to Read Rangers, Ben Davies and Leon King will be allowed to leave Ibrox on a permanent basis this summer.

Davies has been loaned out in recent seasons and is currently out on loan at English club Oxford United.

The 30-year-old’s contract at Rangers runs out at the end of the season and a decision has been made to show him the door. The English defender has battled form and fitness issues at Oxford and has not played a league game in over two months.

Similarly, King is currently out on loan at Ayr United and does not seem to have done enough to convince the decision makers at Ibrox to extend his stay.

Even his contract runs out in the summer, and the Light Blues do not want to keep him at the club.

A few years ago, it seemed like King was one for the future at Rangers, but that is no longer the case.

Which other players will be shown the door at Ibrox?
Apart from King and Davies, there will be other players who will be allowed to leave at the end of the season.

James Tavernier could be on his way out as his contract is expiring as well, and there seems to be no progress on getting him to sign an extension.

Loanees Mikey Moore, Nasser Djiga, Derek Cornelius, Max Aarons and Andreas Skov Olsen will all return to their parent clubs unless deals are struck for them before.

Liam Kelly could also leave Rangers, particularly if a new goalkeeper is to be signed this summer.

Other players who Rohl may want to keep could get good offers from the Premier League or big European clubs and may also angle towards an exit.
